Mountain Roar

Thanks to our many Bingo players and a hardworking crew of dedicated Lions, we have enjoyed our best fall bingo season ever. There will be no bingo during the month of December but we will be up and running again beginning Friday, January 12th, 2024. Remember doors open at 6:00pm with bingo starting at 7:00pm. We thank all of you for supporting this very important Lions’ fundraiser.

Christmas Lights!
We hope you enjoy our Christmas Lights on the clubhouse this holiday season. They were installed by Lions Mike Casley and David Buoy, with the juice provided by Portland General Electric Company (PGE).
From the Boss!

At our last meeting club President Lion Tyler Lehmann explained that Covid and the time for loafing is over. We have over 100 members now and he is going to see that we are all busy! So with that, read on!
Health Committee! Look for old and new projects!

Look for the Red Cross Blood Drives to continue. We try to do at least 3 per year. We will plan to do a Health Fair at the club using the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundations’ Mobile Screening unit (checking glaucoma, vision, diabetes, and blood pressure).

Something new that we are checking into are other screenings, portable Mammography, maybe a mobile Women’s Clinic, Dental etc. Remember early detection is the best step toward a successful treatment..

These are just some of the things that we are looking into. Since its beginning, the Mt. Hood Lions Club has been focused on providing community health programs. We have given over 15,000 immunization shots to local residents (Polio, Measles, Flu, etc.). Our first blood drive in 1951 netted nearly 100 units of blood.
Thanks to all of you! Thank you all for your continued support of the Mt. Hood Lions Club and its many community projects.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Mt. Hood Lions Club.
It’s great to be a Lion!
