Letter to the Editor
The Hoodland Senior Center (HSC) recently completed the process of hiring a new executive director, and I am very pleased to announce that Carianne Stearns was selected for the position.
Carianne, who resides in our community with her family, has extensive experience working for a large nonprofit agency and has been a volunteer with the HSC for the last year. Most importantly, Carianne has a heart for service and comes to the executive director’s position with the perfect mix of compassion, kindness, and competence. I am very confident in predicting a bright future for the HSC and for the community we serve under her leadership. Please stop by and say hello, if you have not yet had the opportunity to do so.
I wish to thank the other applicants who had an interest in this position, and I can say that it was a pleasure to meet each of them. We have good people in our community. The HSC also owes a huge debt of gratitude to our interim executive director, Susan Stindt, without whom a smooth transition would not have been possible. Finally, as always, I am amazed and humbled by the support we receive from businesses and individuals in our community. The vital work we do would not be possible without your support.
Robert Boertien, Chair
HSC Board of Directors
