Our Club’s first Field Day!

It was a great success, exclaimed “Field Day” Chairwoman Sarah O’Dowd, as she thanked everyone who helped. According to Lion Sarah we had around 200 participants that thoroughly enjoyed themselves on that warm Saturday afternoon.

We thank all of the many volunteers who helped put this project on, and also our kitchen crew led by Lion David Buoy.

Mt Hood Charity Open Golf Tournament Tuesday August 25th!

I would have liked to report on our 3rd annual Golf tournament but Lion Dave Anderson, our chairman, is nowhere to be found. Since becoming a past president, it's my understanding that he is most often seen loafing . More on the results in next month's column. I’m sure it was very successful though. After all this is the second time we have had a 3rd annual golf tournament. Actually, the tournament hadn’t taken place as of press time.

Hood to Coast Drive thru Burrito Breakfast!

Thanks for attending our Drive thru Burrito Breakfast on Friday morning, August 28th. We had a nice turnout of Hood to Coast runners and their support groups. As always locals also attended the breakfast, but most not in the early hours. Thanks to Craig Calvert and his crew of  early rising Lions.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Thank you for attending our Red Cross Blood Drive Saturday on August 29th. We had a good turnout with lots of folks who generously donated blood to a very worthy cause.  The Red Cross will be back again on  October 31st, hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Coming up!

Lion President Jason Kelly promises all Lions that they will be kept very busy this coming  year.

Bingo!

This year's fall Bingo season will start on Friday, September 25th, and last through Friday November 27th, closing for the holidays. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with Bingo starting at 7:00pm. Bingo is our club's largest fundraiser, and helps support our Scholarship program and much more. Our Bingo Chairperson is Lion Carol Norgard.

Much more to come in next month’s column.

It’s Great to be a Lion!
