Chuckwagon Breakfast July 4th and 5th!
Please plan to attend our “Chuckwagon Breakfast” on Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th. Hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. both days. Tickets at the door are $6.00 for kids 10 and under and $14.00 for adults. Special adult presale tickets are available for $12.00 at Welches Mountain Building Supply, Welches Clackamas County Bank, Whistle Stop Tavern, Mt. Hood Cannabis, Brightwood Tavern, and Coffee House 26, or ask any Lion. Lion Candice Kelly is this year's Breakfast Chairwoman. A mountain tradition since 1958, we’ll be serving bacon, sausage, eggs and hotcakes, with coffee and juice. We will be offering raffle items and our now famous “Ribs Shoot“ (used to be Turkey Shoot) as well. We’re going to have a car show again on Saturday the 4th of July. If you would like to show your favorite car, spaces are available for $20.00 per spot. Please contact Lion David Anderson at (971) 373-3869 for more details.
Originally started in 1958 (and held at the CCC’s Camp Zig Zag Mule Barn and Mule Pasture) as a fundraiser by the club’s Health Committee, this breakfast helps the Lions Club fund its many community projects. The club sponsors a scholarship program, the Reading is Fundamental program (more than 15,000 books have been given to Welches Elementary School students), the club’s Sight and Hearing program, Swimming Lessons program, and much more. So come out and enjoy a great meal and mountain tradition. Hope to see you there!
75th Anniversary Celebration Saturday May 16th 2026!
We had a very nice celebration in honor of our club’s 75 years of service to our community. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by Lion Chef Craig Calvert and a great crew of Lions. Each member was given a special 75th Anniversary pin designed by Lion Shawn Graybeal. We all enjoyed a special video created by Daryl Moister. Lions Craig Calvert, Dan Wolf, and Milt Fox were presented with “Life Membership “ awards for their many years of service to the club. This was all achieved under the direction and leadership of our club’s great President, Lion David Anderson, who was easily identified as that handsome guy wearing a coat and tie.
Free Swimming Lessons!
This year's Swimming Lessons are just getting started at Camp Arrah Wanna. As of press time we have nearly 100 enthusiastic youngsters registered, and we are expecting good weather and a fun time for all. More on this next month.
Installation Night!
Lion Milt Fox conducted the installation ceremony for our club’s 2026/2027 Board of Directors at our June 24th meeting.
Red Cross Blood Drive
Thank you for attending our Red Cross Blood Drive Saturday June 27th. We had a good turnout with lots of folks who generously donated blood to a very worthy cause. The Red Cross will be back again on August 29th, hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
