HCPO Hosts Community Meeting on Welches Road Path Project

By Marie KennedyThe Mountain Times

The Hoodland Community Planning Organization (HCPO) held its latest community meeting on July 17 at the Mt. Hood Oregon Resort. Residents received updates on a proposed pedestrian and bike path along Welches Road.

County Engineering Project Manager Mike Ward outlined the plan, which would extend the path from Highway 26 to Birdie Lane. Also in attendance was Dan Houf, Civil Engineer and President of Harper Houf Peterson Righellis Inc., who will lead the design and engineering efforts.

While funding is secured, the project remains in the planning phase, and community feedback is encouraged.
