Place of birth: Loveland, Colorado
How long on the Mountain: five years
If you were not brought here as a child, what brought you to the Mountain: I moved here with my ex-husband to buy land and build our dream home. I always wanted to live here, even as a teen – the PNW is the most beautiful place in the world.
Profession: CEO of Allay Consulting
Other professions: I have a few different companies right now and am also the Marketing Committee chair of the Hoodland Women’s Club.
Favorites:
Movie: The 5th Element
Actor: Pedro Pascal
TV show: Last Of Us
Book: Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins
Type of music: punk, metal, bluegrass, country, hip hop, pretty much everything.
Food: Sushi
Hobbies: Painting, mountain biking, paddleboarding, playing violin, reading, ATVs, Snowmobiling – anything outside!
If offered a dream vacation, where would you go, and why: Japan! I would love to learn more about the culture and eat all the food.
Best lesson learned as a child: I realized early on that circumstances don’t define you — your response to them does. That mindset taught me to forge my own path, no matter how difficult it might be, and to turn challenges into fuel for growth. Because of this, my ability to adapt is one of my greatest strengths, allowing me to pivot and grow in even the toughest situations.
Defining moment in your life or your greatest accomplishment: Beating breast cancer in September of 2023!
A memorable dinner: Botafumeiro in Barcelona Spain.
A funny moment from your life that you can share: One of the very first cannabis facility inspections I ever did in Colorado, I walked into an edibles manufacturer and came face to face with… an alligator. Not a metaphorical one — a real alligator. In a kiddie pool. His name was Larry. I genuinely thought I was hallucinating for a second. Once I gathered myself (and my clipboard), I had to explain to the staff that unfortunately, live reptiles aren’t allowed in licensed food manufacturing areas. They were very polite about it — though a little heartbroken — and promised Larry would work from home moving forward. That was when I realized this industry was going to be unlike anything I’d ever dealt with.
If you could invite anyone (past or present) to dinner, who would it be, and why: Anthony Bourdain because he saw the world through a raw, unfiltered lens — much like I do. We would bond over my shared background in food service, my rebellious streak, and my drive to uncover the truth behind industries most people don't understand. Hopefully he’d appreciate my grit, and ability to reinvent myself. The conversation would be real, deep, and maybe a little dark — in the best way.
Describe yourself in one word: Tenacious.
When you're not reading The Mountain Times, what book/author/magazine/other do you read: Usually Fantasy or Sci-fi novels.
If your life were made into a play or movie, what would the title be: Grit Happens.
Pet peeve: When people’s words don’t match their actions.
Bad habit you’d like to break: Not taking enough breaks from work to enjoy life.
Famous person(s) you have met, and the circumstances: I used to bartend at a bar that was the closest hotel to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. I met all kinds of musicians that stayed at that hotel, but ZZ Top was the best. They partied at my bar all night and tipped me super well. They all gave me hugs before they left. Definitely a lifetime memory.
