Nicole Bassett, a Proven Problem Solver for SD 26
While our diverse district spans from Clackamas River forest and farmland through our Mt. Hood communities to the Columbia Gorge, our unique mountain area faces distinct challenges.
As a Mt. Hood village resident, I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Nicole Bassett for Oregon Senate District 26.
While our diverse district spans from Clackamas River forest and farmland through our Mt. Hood communities to the Columbia Gorge, our unique mountain area faces distinct challenges.
From managing seasonal tourism to protecting our natural environment, we need a leader who understands how to build resilient systems, and Nicole is exactly that person.
Nicole isn't a career politician; she is a practical problem-solver with two decades of real-world experience fixing broken systems. She put her thinking to work across real supply chains at Patagonia, a company that merges commercial profitability with environmental activism under the mission statement: "We're in business to save our home planet.”
Building on her deep commitment to environmental responsibility, she went on to become the inaugural Director of Sustainability at prAna, where she led the launch of Fair Trade certified apparel in the U.S. Her background in creating local jobs, eliminating waste, and designing smarter infrastructure is precisely what our rural and mountain towns need.
What strikes me most about Nicole is her commitment to rural roots and collaborative leadership. She looks at policy through a lens of fairness— asking who benefits and who pays—and is dedicated to finding solutions that work for the businesses, families, and neighbors who live up here on the mountain.
Our mountain communities deserve a state senator who understands that good intentions aren't enough—you need competence to make systems work. Nicole Bassett has the endurance and vision to deliver real results for us in Salem. Please join me in voting for her.
Sincerely,
Steve S., Alder Creek
